Rashieda F. Timpson was born in Chicago, Illinois where she spent most of her childhood there until unforeseen circumstances forced her to move to Toledo, Ohio. During her teenage years, she continued to face many obstacles and struggled finding her identity, which led to substance abuse, bad relationships and poor decisions. She always had a connection with God, praying at a young age, but did not develop a relationship with God until her mid-20s, where she had an encounter with the Holy Spirit that changed her life forever. Because of the struggles and issues that she has faced, she feels compelled to be a spokesperson for Jesus Christ and has been called to devote her life to the mission of service.
Hi Rashieda, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
If you have a vision or dream, pursue it despite what others may think. When you are a visionary you have to understand that God has given you the vision and sometimes others can not see it because he did not give the vision to them. You have to be comfortable working sometimes by yourself to see the vision come into existence until help comes along. Don’t let your vision or dream die because of others’ unbelief, lack of help, or it is not taking off as fast as you thought it would. If you put in the work and remain patient your vision or dream will come to pass.
Rashieda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Chicago, Illinois where I spent most of my childhood there until unforeseen circumstances forced me to move to Toledo, Ohio. During my teenage years, I continued to face many obstacles and struggled to find my identity, which led to substance abuse, bad relationships and poor decisions. I always had a connection with God, praying at a young age, but did not develop a relationship with God until my mid-20s, where I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit that changed my life forever. I received a business design degree and started a non-profit organization in 2006 called United Sisters (women inspiring women) encouraging and developing programs for women to identify their purpose and strive toward greatness while addressing the needs in the community.
We’re so thankful that Lester had such fine care while at your home. We had no idea that the time would be so short. Your kindness and compassion was so evident and we are very thankful that we found you. God Bless you all.
